I wonder if I can get a 29 for blue label pricing.

I am leaning towards the 17.5 because I really like the balance of my 34.5. However, with the rmr and added length, it's just a touch difficult to edc. Thoughts?
I think a 17 would be easier to conceal than a 34 for sure. I guess your really trading the optic and a little velocity for an easier to carry gun.
I've seen slides available with the cut out for mounting optics, and someone mentioned having the slide cut for around $200, though I haven't personally looked at what it costs to have it done.
As far as the balance goes, I guess you could add a steel / tungsten / titanium guide rod or weighted plug to shift the weight to your liking.
Ive heard mixed things about the guide rods though.
I have a tungsten RSA in my 34. I’d want the 17 to be as light as possible.
Ahh ok. This might be helpful, theres surprisingly little difference in weight:
I want to get a 19X.
I heard they had steel night sights from the factory, which is pretty nice.
Last I looked the blue label price 19x wasn’t much different than the street price of $540 on gun deals a week ago.
