Guncrafter Industries' own Colt 1911 handgun variants can all so be converted to the .50gi round. In my opinion by the time you buy the glock or 1911 and spend the $600 to convert it, you might as well get a Desert Eagle Mark XIX cause you will get a more powerful round then the .50gi.
The round has a rebated rim that is the same diameter as that of the .45acp. The .50gi round is only a little bit more powerful then the .45acp:
On the left is a .50ae round and on the right is a .45 acp round.
The .50 ae round is 300 gr, shooting at 1475 fps at the muzzle of a six inch barrel (add a 10 inch barrel and the specs go up by 100) with at 50 yards its 1267 fps and at 100 yards its 1114 fps. Still faster then a .45 acp point blank. All at over 1,500 ft·lb. An the scary part is, there is a more powerful round as in the S&W .500.
