As anyone done this conversion yet? It looks cool but is it worth the $600? Just curious. I don't think that I'll ever go this route but I thought the gun looks cool as hell.

Pics? I'm too last to search myself.
Not sure why I would want to. A 10mm will do the same thing but with a smaller diameter projectile. (with more velocity)

seems like something you would do just to say you could. Besides who wouldn't want a .50 cal Glock. Lol
Well, that's reason enough for me. Who am I to talk, I have several weird calibers. :)
Id like a 5.67 Glock. Just because. No other reason.
Go .45 Super.

I've been doing a little load dev. 180gr XTP @ 1,400fps is one heavy hitter!! 783 FPE!!!
Yeah. I can't imagine what my little 27 would feel like firing a .50
I think the conversion is only for the 23 but im not 100%
According to brownells it is only for the large frame. (20/21)

And 45 super is not that "hot". It is usually under 1300 fps.

185 gr (12.0 g) JHP1,300 ft/s (400 m/s)694 ft·lbf (941 J)
200 gr (13 g) JHP1,200 ft/s (370 m/s)639 ft·lbf (866 J)
230 gr (15 g) FMJ1,100 ft/s (340 m/s)618 ft·lbf (838 J)
The .50GI conversion is only for the 20/21 frame.

Man, I'm probably just going to go the route of buying a 23 gen4 and getting a .357 barrel.

That's for "factory" ammo. 45 Super likes AA#7. I've found pressures to be mild with room to go up if I like (from the 1,400fps loads). I've also seen like results from other 45 Super hand loaders.

Guncrafter Industries' own Colt 1911 handgun variants can all so be converted to the .50gi round. In my opinion by the time you buy the glock or 1911 and spend the $600 to convert it, you might as well get a Desert Eagle Mark XIX cause you will get a more powerful round then the .50gi.

The round has a rebated rim that is the same diameter as that of the .45acp. The .50gi round is only a little bit more powerful then the .45acp:

Cylinder Tin Metal Gun accessory Auto part

Wood Cylinder Gas Tints and shades Table

On the left is a .50ae round and on the right is a .45 acp round.

The .50 ae round is 300 gr, shooting at 1475 fps at the muzzle of a six inch barrel (add a 10 inch barrel and the specs go up by 100) with at 50 yards its 1267 fps and at 100 yards its 1114 fps. Still faster then a .45 acp point blank. All at over 1,500 ft·lb. An the scary part is, there is a more powerful round as in the S&W .500.:)
