Shot a Glock 45 (9 mm) for the first time today. It's a friend's new duty gun. I shot it reasonably well, 16 rds. all 8 or better, but not as well as the other gun I shot today, my Glock 30 (.45 acp). G30 and G26 have always shot quite well for me.

The G45 seems to be G17 frame with a G19 slide. Is the G45 simply a regular Gen 5, black version of the 19x?

On the same trip a new shooter shot the G45, my G30, and my G44 (.22 LR). The G44 was her favorite by far, and she shot it well. She only shot one rd. through the G30, then handed it back to me. She didn't like .45 acp.

Helping new shooters develop proficiency is one place where the G44 shines! I also love it because .22 LR is comparatively accessible and inexpensive, and practice with a G44 transfers well to other Glocks. 100 rds. through the G44 today with no issues.

The 19X has a few minor differences as compared to the G45 but basically they are both 17 frames with 19 length slides.
It’s pretty well documented that the 30 and subcompact Glocks are very accurate even against their longer slide siblings.
