Hey I was wondering if anybody has used a gen 3 slide on a gen 5 frame for a glock 19. If so, is there any extra parts I would need to swap out to make it work? Or does it not work at all. Thanks

I've seen 1 youtube video saying otherwise. Based on that, he was saying the only thing you cant do is use the left side of the ambi slide release but other than that it is functional. Have you tried doing it yourself? Thanks for the reply
2nd question regarding gen 3 slide on gen 5 frame: will the internals from the gen 5 slide fit into a stripped gen 3 slide? the one that i was looking at buying is a gen 3 slide with no internals.
No you are going to need Gen3 internals as the differences in Gen 5 internals include a different firing pin safety plunger, firing pin/striker,Gen 3 pin the tip isa flat spade and Gen 5 is a round tip.
I'm looking into building my gun and Gen 3 slides are about 200$ cheaper than Gen 5 slides. Glock is known for interchangeability between generations but I'm new to glock and didn't know what might fit. That's all my question was asking
Gen 5 had a lot of changes vs Gen 1 thru 4. Different Slide, different Trigger components, changes in extractor-ejector & ambi Slide Lock etc. I am a left hand shooter. Gen 5's are my fav for many reasons & a lot of previous Gens' parts are not compatable.
If you web browse some of the compaines selling lots of Glock parts, it will mention " fits Gen # " .
