Glad I DIDN'T have my Glock...

This last Wednesday, my roommate and I were walking down a fairly busy street, having just left our friend's house.

I have a CCW and usually carry my G19 everywhere I go, but I had been at a bar earlier in the afternoon and as it is against the law, did not bring it with me.

The next thing I knew, I was laying on the ground. All I saw was bright white light and heard some muffled scuffling around. The only thing I really remember is a couple of voices yelling some hate remarks as I curled into a ball and writhed on the sidewalk. Come to find out later I had been jumped by upwards of 12 bikers.

I was able to look up briefly and saw 3 or 4 of them kicking and punching me.

I have a shattered occipital lobe, broken nose, swollen-shut eye, a missing tooth, a bruised timpanic membrane, and two broken ribs.

When I looked up during all of this, I remember reaching for the location of where my gun normally is....FORTUNATELY it was not there.

I honestly believe that if I had pulled it, I would be dead by it.

I don't think there was any chance of anticipating this. I'm normally very aware of my surroundings to the point of being paranoid. The truth is, I don't know what really happened.

I was later told by some witnesses who the perps were..but I have a little too much trepidation to file any charges, because the wrath thereafter might also get me killed.

I have no idea what prompted this.

Needless to say, IF I ever leave my house again, it WILL be with the G19. I just need to figure out how to see through walls.

With a group that big, I don't think a gun would have done anything but got me shot, my piece more-than-likely would have been taken...or worse, used on me. Not to mention the fact that most of them were likely carrying as well.

I'm mad. I can't get it out of my head when I try to sleep. Just mad.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

That sucks man I feel for you. I had a similar situation happen to me years ago. I was walking and got blind sided by someone the guy hit me so hard it lifted me off the ground when I was trying to get up to confront the threat someone came from behind me and yoked me up while the guy who first hit me was teeing of on my face I fell again to get hit with a large branch or stick that knocked me out. I woke up to paramedics all around me with witnesses telling the police what they saw. This happened in broad daylight with numerous people around and no one helped or even try to yell at the attackers. Needless to say I carry everywhere I go. I hope you heal fast brother.take it as a lesson learned I did in my experience.
