I just don't understand how our court system let's these type of lawsuit even make it to court! If I were the judge I would laugh in this ladies face and tell her that her son got what he deserved and she was obviously a failure as a parent!

If i was Kroger, I'd counter sue her for being a piss poor parent.

"May baby was shot. no one can shoot my baby. Not my baby. My baby would never do anything like that".

You know what? How about letting your son (now deceased) "take his lumps" like a man? hmmmm? He's not a baby anymore.

The guy turned out this way due to mom being THIS way.

I know of one of these quality human beings... He is in custody for trying to kill his mom. He tries to shoot her and misses her but strikes her husband. Then he shoots two more people. All of them die. He is arrested. He threatens cops, assaults officers, etc etc. Then calls his mommy and says that the officers are mean to him. She then contacts the powers that be that the officers are abusing her son. The commander of the facility was then ordered to look into it. When he contacted the supervisor, the supervisor told a totally different story. (the truth) And then said, "Wait a minute, his mom was one of his victims." The jail commander was shocked to say the least. Let's just say I have it on good authority that this all happened. Poor parenting creats these monsters. It ain't low self asteem it is "my boy didn't do anything wrong" attitudes. I say they have TOO MUCH self asteem. They think they are the center of the universe. They beleive they can hurt anyone they want and no one can touch them. I hear, "you can't lay hands on me!" a hundred times a week. This is usually followed by crying usually reserved for five years old. (you know the uncontrollable blubbering type)

I blame this all on Mr. Rogers. Seriously. Not everyone is "Special". Not everyone "can do anything you want to.".

People fail and succeed in life. Mr. Roger's and his ilk (and the parents that allow him to raise their kids) are responsible for raising generations of kids that can't handle failure and who believe they are entitled to everything b/e they're "special".

Yahoo had an article "jobs for hipsters". REALLY? How about, just taking a job, even if it's not your dream job, b/e you're trying to fulfill your responsibility?

Atkinson is seeking at least $75,000 in damages and she will settle for $25,000 to $30,000 because she knows the Chain would have to spend more money fighting it. I know in the last 23 yrs I have been a part of Numerous Lawsuits of this kind and I have seen out of court settlements for $10,000-$30,000 knowing no one did anything wrong! They settle because i is cheaper. Does she really think her kid is ONLY worth $75,000? If it were me and you we would be asking for millions! But she (Or more Probably her Lawyer) Knows the Game. Lawyer will walk off with Half at least!

That's crazy. If im remembering correctly several months ago there was an attempted armed robbery at a kroger and one of the employees ran up and shot him in the head. And was fired bc he had a gun at work. But he was not charged with anything. What makes ppl go after kroger? Crazy mess.

Counter suit is the way to go, Kroger can afford to run her tab way past the 75K she is asking for. Principal of the matter not the money. Then the manager needs to file a suite because her Dumb A$$ son cost him his job, so over 20 or so years that should come to at least 4 to 500K. The look on her face would be priceless.
