Gen4 g19 or not??? That is the question

Well heres the big question, "Should i buy a gen 4 G19 or even a GEN4 G17? I have a G26 and G23 since 2002 and I "NEVER" had one single FTF, jam, anything!! Flawless for probably over10,000 rounds and counting! Eats any type of ammo! So I read countless articles on the GEN4 issues with the G19 and G17 recoil spring! Brass in the face, stove pipe, ftf, etc! Glock is like on #4 spring replacement, also heard that it is not the spring, but the extractor!!! The proven extractor # is #336, and looks like the flawed extractor is #30274. I am hesitant to purchase one at this point! I love my Glocks and never heard anything bad until the Gen 4 era hit! My friend has the S&W M/P 9mm and said it is great! I actually looked at one at the gun shop today! This is the first time I looked at another maker other than Glock! My son is 14 yrs old and loves shooting my G26! He told me buy the G19 or 17 Gen4 and nothing else! I guess he is loyal!! I wish Glock would have left the internals alone and just added the back straps! I went from wanting to buy a Gen 4 to sitting on my money and looking at another brand!! Any 1st hand experience with the Gen4 19 or even 17 would be helpful!!!

I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm about to put 400 rounds through my new GEN 4 19. All WWB and Fed Champion. I'll be shooting with light attached as well.
The 30274 ejector is what's going in the 19's now. Once that was installed any very minor erratic ejection I had in that gun were gone. Over 7k rounds and counting....flawless.

That's what I'm expecting as well, hence the ammo I'll be using.
The pic below shows the my old 336 ejector and the new 30274 in the same gun.....

I have over 1100 rounds through my G19 Gen4. The only errors I had were mine, not the guns. All those rounds were Fed Champion and only one fail to fire. Other than that this gun has worked FLAWLESSLY and I've even had people guy a G19 based on shooting my gun. You are incorrect about the ejector, the 30274 is the GOOD one. I called Glock when I got my gun and confirmed with them that I had all the newest parts.

The Gen4's had issues when they came out, but that was a few years ago. I've opened 3 NIB Gen4's now and they have all worked as anyone would expect a Glock to work. The internals on this gun are so sweet I'm surprised Glock doesn't charge Sig and HK prices for these weapons.

Don't believe the old hype, the Gen4's are worth every penny if not more.

Hell ask Webroach on these boards, if ANYONE is going to get a defective product or a bad experience somewhere its me, so when I rave about a product, assuming you know me lol, it's merited.
I will be adding yet another Gen4 to the stable on Thursday this week.
Also, note just how scarce Gen4's are now on the market......new or used. You won't see me selling any of mine. I would sell a Gen3 first.
Me dumping 7 mags through one of my Gen4 19's without failure and that was with the old parts.....

Yes my hand was about to lock up at the end.

maybe i had the ejector numbers backwards! thanks for all the inputs so far! The store near me always has a counter full of just about any Glock you want! Just wanted to get more input to push me over the get the doubt I had out of my head!! My son read the comments and said to buy two G19s, one for him and one for me! I am happy with my G26, so maybe more Glocks to the family will be in the future!

Zero issues
The ejector problem does that just apply to the Glock 19 GEN 4? I have a Glock 23 GEN 4 I got July 2011 having ejection issues. I replaced the recoil spring (Glock recall) but stll the weapon does not seem to be functioning properly. Is their a product number I should be looking for on the ejector? I plan on calling Glock next week. Any help would be great!

I guess it depends on what your intent with it is.....
G19 is a little more suitable to CC
G17 can be concealed but it's slightly more difficult (but can be done)

If your simply looking for a range gun G17 would be my preference, but that's just me......actually that's not true, my preference on a range gun would be a G34

Just out of curiosity, why a Gen4 as opposed to a Gen3?

i have the 336 in my G26! never aFTF, stove pipe, hell nothing! Still have not decided to buy a G19 Gen 4, evne heard some of the Gen 3s are issued! Going to a gun show this weekend, maybe I will find a deal! might find a an OD glock!
I like watching people shooting rapid fire and they start off like an uzi and end up like a single action colt. lol That finger fatigue is a booger bear. Thanks for the vid. Just another reason why I envy you guys with property to shoot on.
I have 450 rounds through my G19 Gen3. I was renting and shooting a Gen4 at the range, and had multiple jams per session. My Gen3 has been flawless! Not issues at all. I've been using both WWB Value pack and Federal Champion.

I'm new to handguns and LOVE my G19 Gen3...
