So I'm trying to get a G19 before my state is struck down to just revolvers and hunting rifles, and I'm wondering. It's been like 5+ years since Gen 5 came out. I like Gen 4, and Gen 5 was kind of untested because of the many changes. Is Gen 5 really worth getting over Gen 4 at this point? Or more vulnerable to problems?

I have Gen 3 and Gen 5. I haven’t really run a Gen5 through the wringer but I haven’t heard anything but good about them.

I have the G19 Gen 3 and when the Gen 4 came out my brother got it. I wasn't impressed with Gen 4 at all. Now Gen 5 is out. I may get the G19M just because its the FBI pistol. I am a retired LEO and I am happy with my G19 Gen 3.

Thanks for the feedback. I know Gen 5 had 30-something changes from Gen 4, and Gen 4 is a tried and true thing, but I wasn't able to find any bad feedback about Gen 5 for the most part. I figured that many changes came with the risk of unintended problems, but looks good. Bought a Gen 5.

Congrats,I only have two Gen 5's but I like the improvements Glock has made in them.

I prefer the gen 5 for the slightly improved trigger and barrel. It does make a little difference. The MOS version will give you an easy red dot option should you chose down the road.

Glock perfection applies to all generations and even some of the clones as long as they are faithful to the Glock design. If the world had only one pistol, it would be a Glock.

Love my G5. Only have a few thousand rounds trough it so far. The photo was first time at the range with it.
