I am old school and I prefer a proven track record. I have 4 generation 3 Glocks. I saw a Gen 4 G26 but I'm not into the newer design. I'm holding out for a Gen 3.

HAha, I was hoping that the Gen 4's would bring out a lot of low mileage Gen 3's. Just can't seem to get past the grips in the Gen 4. Just my .02

I think that is why Glock is still selling the Gen 3 side by side with the 4's. There are a lot Glock fans that become partial to a specific model (RTFs for example).

Personally I think that the grips on the Gen 4 are much more comfortable but since I have only owned Gen 4s and have a lot more experience with them my opinion is heavily biased. I also have more than 4000 rounds through my Gen 4 G19 without a problem (or having to replace a single part) and so have no worries at all about reliability.

I know quite a few Gen 3 owners who have upgraded happily to Gen 4s and then I know quite a few that are happy staying with their Gen 3s. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

As for me I would not buy a brand new Gen 3 over a Gen 4. Now I would happily take a free Gen 3 or pick one up if the price was really, really good...

I would be perfectly happy with either. I got a gen 3 because it was in stock at the time in the model I wanted, and it was my birthday so I was leaving there with a gun lol.

I agree about the grips... I do not like the gen 4 grips.

Easy fix though.

Given the choice Id take a 3 over a 4.

I just like that the 4's come with 3 mags, but thats a $20 fix.

I have multiples of both. I will not be buying anymore gen3's.
Same here!! I agree now that I've had my GEN 4s it's hard to go back to the GEN 3s..

Not that I hate the LATER GEN's all GLOCKS are good in my book. Just shooting the new GEN 4's without any BS on any of mine they fit & feel super comfortable :)

It was $50.00 more for the Gen 4. The dealer only kept Gen 3's in stock. The choice was easy for me. Last weekend I had the opportunity to dry fire a Gen 4 23. I didn't like the grips, no big deal I put rubber grips on mine. I also don't get how some say their Gen 4 trigger is heavier then the 3. The one I dry fired was noticeably lighter then mine and my son in laws Gen 3 22. So I only see the price as my reason not to have a Gen 4. But I won't give up my Gen 3!

I prefer the grip texture and mag safety of the Gen 4s but its a close race. The triggers of Gen 3s are easier to tune lighter. For a project gun, one can get a BarSto match grade fitted barrel for a Gen 3. Not for a Gen 4.
I really love RTF2 Gen 3s.

I love the 3's and have owned a couple myself. My current glock is the gen4 21 and its just a dream. Some don't like the trigger me personally I do, I also like the bigger mag release. About the only thing I'll be doing to the weapon will be putting trijicon night sights on it.
I love all glock pistols though. I'm sure when I purchase my next few to add to the collection they will be gen 4's as well
