The technical problem is not adhering to the new Safe Handgun Roster requirement in PC 12126(d):Forgive my ignorance on this subject, but what's Cali's problem with the Gen 4's?
buzznrose already covered the bigger problem.(d) As used in this section, a "magazine disconnect mechanism" means a mechanism that prevents a semiautomatic pistol that has a detachable magazine from operating to strike the primer of ammunition in the firing chamber when a detachable magazine is not inserted in the semiautomatic pistol.
You won't be sorry, I have a Gen4 G21 and it is my favorite gun!I really want a gen4 21 , i heard there is a shop out in sacramento that does the single shot conversion and than when you leave you can change it back to factory when you get home .
You just need to find a FFL that will do a SSE 'Single Shot Exemption'. I picked up my Gen4 G22 a few months ago. If you are in the Nor Cal area PM me and I can recommend one.WhoNeedsMetalGuns said:Does any know when there gonna be legal in CA?
Now you're in my neck of the woods. It could be Sacramento Black Rifle as I know they do it and there's probably quite a few others as well. They up charge you quite a few bucks, but if it's the Gen you want and you don't qualify any other way (active/retired LE/military, or grandfather, father, son, grandson that is) it's how you have to do it. You actually do the swap in the stores.I really want a gen4 21 , i heard there is a shop out in sacramento that does the single shot conversion and than when you leave you can change it back to factory when you get home .

From what I understand, it needs to be in Single shot exemption configuration and the registration paperwork shows SSE. Not all FFLs feel comfortable doing this. There are a few companies that ship SSE Gen4 to CA.mikecu said:What would happen if you bought my Gen 4 and I shipped it to your local FFL? I don't have a FFL.
Would the FFL on your end stop the sale?
Yeah the ffl would stop the sale unless it met the barrel and sse exemptions. But you could buy one from a face to face sale if you could find one alsoWhat would happen if you bought my Gen 4 and I shipped it to your local FFL? I don't have a FFL.
