G27 accessory rail mod, do-able?

Discussion in 'Optics / Sights / Lasers / Lights' started by Zardoz, Feb 5, 2012.

  1. I'm just wondering if anyone has milled accessory slots in the G27 frame? There's enough meat in the plastic as far as I can tell. I'd like a flashlight for overnight camping use in bear, wolf, and big cat country.

A larger model Glock isn't an option at this point.

    Thanks in advance...

    Take a look at this:

The advantage of this would be that you wouldn't also need custom holsters. Any OWB and most other holsters would work fine.

I seem to recall seeing something similar with a picatinny rail instead of flashlight ring.

    I also found this:

Having never used it, I can't speak for it, but for $22, it might be worth a shot.

If I were going to install a rail on the gun itself, I think I'd shape an off-the-shelf picatinny rail and epoxy it to the frame or a floorplate, with slots cut to see the serial number or access the hole in the floorplate.

  3. Super! This will be my first option. Ordered one already. I have a 15rd mag that will leave room for my pinky with this.

Now to find a 1" LED light for it.

You guys are great, thanks for the excellent posts.

Lemme know how it works out and what you chose for a light. I'm kinda interested in this for my G26
