Thinking about putting the SS or tungsten guide rod in my G22. But is it worth the $? Does it even make a difference in performance?

Welcome to the Glock Forum pat !!

They say the extra weight helps with follow-up shots,

but I don't have one installed yet.

I can't tell much of a difference if any. The only reason I got one was because I figured SS would be much better and less likely to break in that area. However, Mr Glock knows better than I do.

I have not heard of one breaking nor melting, its just a matter of preferences for me.
I'm sure the plastic one (stock) is just fine, my thinking is SS is much less subject to break or even melt than plastic, so I replaced it. No not a fad thing.
