I want a 40 10mm even more now!
Does seem like 10 mm is getting more attention these days
45 takes your soul. 10 erases your existence.
I have a question since this is a 10MM thread. What are the magazine options for a Glock 29?
Is there a Glock magazine with a base plate similar to the G30 that extends the grip?
Or are the only options a flush fit magazine or the G20 15 round mag?
Another question I have is are there any aftermarket Glock 10MM magazines?
LOL!!! Wow, that's some deep gun philosophy right there!
I added Pearce +0's to my flush fit mags and use the X Grip on my 15 rounders. Glock doesn't offer an extended mag for the 29, but I think you can add + extensions.
I was hesitant to get a 10mm for a long time, but I don't regret getting my 29 at all. I love the 10mm now. I also want a G40. I'm even going to try my hand at pistol hunting this season using 200gr Underwoods.
Edit: I remember reading about some 30 round 10mm mags for Glocks. I just never looked into it.
How is shooting a 10mm from a smaller gun??
I find the 29 is a very tame beast. It still demands respect, but very manageable. The recoil in my cousin's 1006 is more violent though.
Shooting the Hornady Critical Duty 175gr is less recoil than shooting a G23. They chrono 1080 from the short barrel.
I like that Critical Duty load, at least out of the longer barrel of a 20 or 40. The bullet performs pretty well at that velocity, kind of so so at .40 velocities. I bought a bunch of it from Cabelas a few years ago when it was an exclusive item of theirs.
Dave the reason I use it for carry sometimes, is it is the same bullet the 40 ammo uses. At G22 velocity it performs pretty darn well, and my little 29 outperforms that, so I figure I'm safe.
Right now my 29 is loaded with Underwood 200gr Noslers.
The Underwood Xtreme Defender loads at 150 grain penetrate 18”. Not sure how the recoil is versus 200. These are flying I think 1400 plus.
Overkill338, check your regs on magazine round limits before taking to the woods deer hunting. In KY we're limited to a 10 round mag for deer hunting, which should be more than enough.
Here's my deer hunting G20.

Thanks I will check. I'm not sure Virginny has any limits, but ya never know. Of course a 29 only holds 10 anyway.
I think I’d be more comfortable with a full size G20/40 for the woods Alaskan style carry. Wouldn’t hurt having an extra 29 concealed. Only carry extra G20 mags, if legal.
I have an apple orchard for a front yard. I could kill the deer with a sling shot. I'm pretty sure I can make a 20 yard shot with my 29 lol
That Underwood Xtreme Penetrator/Defender is wicked stuff. I’m using it in all my CC firearms.
Yeah, but I saw where you were discussing high cap mags so I just wanted to throw that out there anyway.
I appreciate it, because I hadn't thought of checking. So you may have saved me some headache.
Edit, checked it. I think my 29 still meets the ft lbs requirement.
OP: Sorry for derailing your topic. Maybe we need a 10mm forum here like GT has.
It's improved upon from Colian Noir .45 acp carriers video.
No worries. All 10mm talk welcome as far as I am concerned.
