My EDC is GLOCK 30 with one in the chamber and a nine round mag for best concealment. My spare is a ten round mag. I have two more in the vehicle. Too much with the extra two mags? Considering many carry a G19 with 15 and one in the pipe plus another 15 spare it seems in totality I'm not being overly paranoid.

What are you carry in total capacity between EDC and vehicle. I'm assuming most would carry one and perhaps two spare mags as EDC.

Everyone is different. What situations could you possibly see yourself getting into?

My EDC is a Glock 32 with a Glock 33 as a backup and one 15 round mag as a spare.
That's 39 rounds on me. More than enough to get me and my family to my car so we can escape. I have two spare 15 round mags in my car.


On duty I carry a Glock 31 with four spare mags and a Glock 33 as a backup.
That's 86 rounds on me. In the car in my bag I have two 22rnd mags for the 31, two spare AR15 mags and a big knife. There's also the AR with one mag and a Shotgun loaded with 6 rounds in the car.

I carry a G19 4 o'clock, G26 appendix.

Spare 15rd mag 10 o'clock & 15rd mag 8 o'clock.

Edit: ( I also carry medical gear, RATS TQ on my belt, pocket medical kit containing a TK4 TQ, Guaze, Decomp needle, duct tape, gloves.)

If I'm going to truck it's not to get spare pistol mags, it's too get my rifle with my active shooter lightweight plate carrier...

I carry the shield with 7 + 1, with two extra 8 round mags as my EDC. If I am say going out at night to escort my kids playing Pokemon go. I'll add a Glock 19, or 30sf with 2 extra mags in a shoulder rig. Then carry shield as a BUG.

Single magazine carrier are better than double magazine carriers for EDC most of the time. Carrying 2x single mags allows you to position them better around your body than bulky double carriers.

Carrying 1 spare magazine is absolute, carrying a 2nd spare magazine is a luxury.

Unless they think your up to something I doubt they'd care how many rounds you carry! At least that's what The Constitution says

Magazines jam and things happen so having 2 mags on your belt is fine. You can even find 3 mag holsters it just depends on your preference.

I carry my glock 26 in a desantis pocket holster 10+1. Then 2 glock 17 mags on my belt in horizontal safari land 123 pouches. 45 rounds total. Especially if I'm going to store, mall, etc. anywhere where there will be a lot of people. You never know with all these terrorists. Always be ready

An AR in the trunk with 5 extra 30-rd mags and an SKS.

Easy CZ ... Just curious as to the rationale for the SKS in addition to the AR? They seem roughly duplicate in mission. I'd think maybe a shotgun or scoped 308 to round out the AR?

I normally just have my EDC. With one spare magazine or a Speed loader if I'm carrying the SP101.

Are there any reports of a civilian firing more than four shots in a self defense situation? Seems on average that's the max. I keep cycling through the scenarios I'd likely faced based on past experiences and can't think of any. Except for SHTF. Why I ask what others do.

Spare magazines not just for extra ammo it's to fix your gun and to keep it at full fighting capacity once the immediate fight is over...

Backup guns are the best answer to malfunctions like double feeds..

EDIT: Thus why I carry either a G26 or M&P Shield 9mm appendix for a backup pistol, it can be drawn with either hand

I have two EDC I rotate, a G23 and G27. The G23 has a 10 round mag, the only reason I carry the 10 round mag is it makes it a tad lighter, I have a 13 round G23 mag as a backup.

What anyone else has or thinks should not be part of that plan. Today, the bad guys are striking everywhere worldwide. To think you can forecast in your area when or what will happen is foolish.

Carry what makes you comfortable, and if someone or more than one most of the time, tries to injure or kill you and/or your love ones, which gun, amount of ammo, and/or multiple weapons will do?

Most cops want the smallest, lightest, and easiest to carry gun there is off duty UNTIL they are attacked and wished they brought their S&W 500 instead.

Carry something should be your first thought. What else depends on what you can handle, and handle well. Just carrying is meaningless. Everyone says "I carry" which is tantamount to saying "I wear Pants" so what. What you can do with what you carry is what matters, be it a knife, gun, or a rifle.
