I know a guy who's selling his g18 but to get it I'd have to sell my 23 so which one do I go for? :)

Dude a Glock 18 is the full auto model of the Glock 17.
Not anyone can just go buy one
Are you legally able to have a G18? I doubt it.
Dont you need some kind of class3 ffl to own a g18
Besides being leo or military

The G18 is a select fire weapon, meaning it will fire in the semi auto mode as well as full auto.

If you can find a pre-86 Dealer Sample and it's fully transferable AND you have enough $$$ you can own a select fire weapon system in most states.
All these g18 posts on this forum make me want to puke. Some people think getting them is as easy as getting change for a 20 dollar bill. Even if and thats a huge if, if someone actually finds one my guess tells me the price would be astronomical.
I don't think the G18 was even made prior to 1986, so there is NO way a civilian can own one.

Yea there has been a lot of G18 talk pop up lately. They might find it cheaper to get the FSSG switch to turn any glock into select fire. That is still not going to be an easy task an requires a special license or you have to be a LEO or in the military. IMO full auto hand guns are useless. If you need that much fire power get a SMG.
It's possible that he just isn't familiar with gun laws.

It's also possible that he's not in the US but rather somewhere with more favorable laws.
You have to be in the club to have a real factory G18.

That's something alot of us forget when on the internet, people from all over the world could be members of this site.
It seems the original poster hasn't logged in besides the day after he posted this. My guess is that it's a typo and he will find his buddy has a Glock 19.
which Glock

I really need to decide :)

First off let me start by saying good luck trying to get a G18, unless your in the military or on the police force on a swat team your not going to get one, second go ahead and get the G23 , with this weapon you get the speed of the 9mm, and the pounch of the .45ACP all rolled up in one , not to mention that the G23 fits my hand like a glove, i'm a big guy 250lb. 5'11" and have never had problem with this gun, i have fired over 2000 rounds through it and only once had problems with the type of ammo i was using, this is the perfect weapon for open or concealed carry , its compact size lets you carry it all day and not know its there , and the ammo is relatively cheep, a box of .40cal winchester 180GR. JHP personal protection @ 50 to a box was only $21.00 where i'm from, So i have two G23's , G30, G22, and i carry the G23 24/7.
Even military it would have to be issued to you for a specific mission, ie. special forces. Or police, only federal departments us them, local Leo's text to shy away, very few use it. Even then though, it's issued to you for a mission. Best chance, get a class three and "demo" it to police\military organizations. Good luck on that too.
