While on the job, I had a pack of aggressive dogs come out of a yard, climb a ditch, and approach me on the road. I took out my spray and they instantly stopped moving and barking. I just waved my arm back and forth and they backed up. Never had to spray them but it was obvious that they have been sprayed before.

Like humans I've seen dogs that can still attack after being sprayed.
Also if dogs have been sprayed before you can hold your hand up and make a "SSSHHHHHH" noise and they'll back off.

I've had to almost spray two different aggressive dogs while on duty. I've found that most dogs understand a firm and loud "NO!"If they keep coming then they get sprayed.

Just once many years ago, before I had my CS spray. I came close to shooting a pit bull, but he couldn't get thru the partly-open car window. I was just walking by with my grocery bag.

When I was an investigator for the Pierce County Public Pretender. I pepper sprayed many a dog to get out of my car and serve a subpoena.

I was sprayed twice during training. I never liked either time!!!!! I ditched getting tased a few times.

I had to be sprayed to carry OC spray, & tased to carry taser, & I was only a lowly investigator for the department of assigned council, lol!!
