Pros:

1) Make some new friends.

2) Fun for the whole family.

3) Nationwide indoor & outdoor matches within reach all year long.

4) You could win prizes if you place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in your class at indoor matches & random prizes at outdoor matches.

5) you'll get some GSSF swag and a newsletter subscription.

6) you'll get a discount on one Glock per year after your first year membership with the Glock/GSSF pistol purchase program.

7) Get entered to win a Glock when you compete two out of the three in a series of indoor matches.

Cons:

It's not free...but I'm a poor college student with no job & even I can afford it. (Just got asked by a bum "excuse me sir, have you got any spare change?" HA!) $35 to join for one year & $25 per match ain't bad.

Become a Glock Armorer

GSSF is the best way to get started in both indoor and outdoor competition. It is not an accessories contest.

GSSF is a great way to get into competitive shooting you will meet people that are like yourself (when it comes to shooting) and you may meet some new friends that will help you along the way. Matches are a great experience, even when you don't do well. They are challenging and fun as heck and you will make memories that will last a life time.

Have your Glock checked for free at a match by a GLOCK Armorer and any parts necessary replaced for free

Usually 40 matches held each year!

The GLOCK Sport Shooting Foundation received it's affiliation with the CMP. The affiliation number is 33138.

Any U.S. citizen who is legally not prohibited from owning a firearm may purchase a military surplus rifle from the CMP, provided they are a member of a CMP affiliated club.

SA (Springfield) Field Grade $495

First -- I agree with all that's been said above. GSSF Membership IS worth the money.

If you are hoping to compete in matches be sure to check if there are any near you.

For me, there is an outdoor match 50 miles away. Nice! But the next couple closest ones are like 300 miles each. Makes for long, expensive weekends to attend those.

Don't let that scare you! Membership is still worth it even without doing a lot of competitions.

could someone feel me in on the GSSF membership benifits?

I just joined gssf for 2 years, I'm excited to compete in any local matches, and attend Glock Armor course.
I can't wait for my coupon though, I wonder how long it'll take to get here...

Wouldn't that be nice. The regime has just about completely killed CMP sales. It's nice to have the possibility available through GSSF though.

I joined for 2 years in March of 2013. Bought my Glock 19 Gen4 last summer for $425 with the first Pistol Purchase Coupon. Picked up my Glock 23 Gen4 today for $399 with the second one. I also will be attending a Glock Armorers Course in 2 weeks. Not a bad return on $60.;)

The second coupon is for a lower price than the first? I thought it was $425 each year. I'll probably take the armorer's course in a month or two.

That's cool. Who actually charged it. How do you redeem the coupons? I've never had one before and expect mine in a couple of weeks. I guess I should figure out now how to use it to be ready when it arrives.
