Folks I have a question. What is the longest pistol shot that needs to be taken in any given USPSA or IDPA competition? Just pistol is what I'm wondering, not 3 gun or anything similar.

Also regarding these furthest shots; what size are the targets? Silhouettes? Bulls eyes? 12 inch? 24 inch?

IDPA usually nothing over 25yds and even that is not the norm, inside 10-15yds most popular except at big matches.

full size buff color targets with perforated scoring zones not visible from/past approx 10yds for IDPA best shot placement is called "down Zero" an 8" circle mid upper body

15 yards is abotu max for local USPSA matches, national level may be longer.
here is a standard target. No, before you thing, 15 yards, hell thats nothign, keep in mind that its two -three shots per target, there may be a no shot in front, you may be behind a wall, you may be shooting through a portal, it may be moving, it may be the head part only...
