CHL in texas

Hello everyone, I'm a new member to the glock forum and have a question. I am currently gathering everything I need to start my application process for a CHL in Texas. I was wondering, does any one know the distances and times(if any) that are needed to qualify in the CHL courses? I am proficient with a rifle but handguns are still a little sketchy to me. I know my way around a handgun but I was wondering if I would qualify and if I would need additional training before the CHL class.

Welcome to the forum! I'm in Pa so I can't help with this, however I'm sure someone will be along shortly to help guide you in the right direction.
Hey welcome to the forum! To get your CHL in Texas you have to have 10 to 12 hours with the concealed carry class. Then you have to fire 50 rounds from 3, 7, and 15 yards and score I think at least a 190. My instructor said he had never had anyone fail the class. Then it's just a matter of fingerprints, passport photos, and waiting.

Read section A. 2. b. That is your range requirements
Set up a coke bottle 15 yards away at your local shooting range. If you can hit it at 15 yards away, you will have no problem hitting it at 7 or 3 yards. That's what I did anyway.
Thanks guys I appreciate all the replies. This definitely more than helps.
