First off, it's a pleasure to be here ! Reading a lot of good info here !
I have a Glock 17 Gen 5 that I purchased back in December and has been flawless. No hiccups whatsoever.
A few days ago I picked up a new Glock 26 gen 5. Awesome little pistol. However - decided to take her to the range today for the first time to see how it shoots. First few mags were fine. Then the slide wouldn't lock back on the last round all of a sudden ( did shoot all three magazines with it prior to this without an issue ).
So, I load up all three magazines and go again. Issue never repeated, only this time a new problem happened. Now, when I insert a full mag ( with an open slide ) I cannot "slingshot" the slide shut. It's stuck open. It WILL however go into battery, only when I hit the slide release lever. Also, if the slide is in full battery and I manually rack a round in, it will go in perfectly. The only time the slide is having an issue is when it's locked back and I try and manually release it. It will NOT move into battery. And yes, I'm positive my finger is far away from the slide stop button when I'm doing this.
Any ideas on what the issue might be ? I took it apart and cleaned / lubed it with Ballistol as I do all my pistols and it seemed fine when I took it apart to clean it. I'll be taking this back to where I purchased it and see if they can send it in for warranty repairs. Kinda disappointed since I expected a perfect pistol out of the box, like my G17 Gen 5 was.
Oh and the ammo I was shooting was Remmington UMC 115 grain FMJ.
