Is it ok when cleaning with the plastic glock rod to push all the way through the bore. I have seen people on you tube do it both ways some people push the patch all the way through and others right to the end then pull back.

I cannot think of any way that it could cause any damage to the barrel or bore. It is plastic, with a nylon brush, going through a steel bore.

Well I just use a patch anyway. But had a friend tell me to be careful cause the rod could damage the barrel but I suppose he may have be tallking about using the metal rods that come with the gun cleaning kits.I have pushed my patch all the way through since the first cleaning and it's seems to be ok

Somthing has to be equal or greater hardness to pose a threat,should be fine.

It's not going to hurt anything, if you bought a pistol cleaning kit you can use that one and it would work just the same..pushing it through all the way will not hurt the rifling of the barrel
