5.56 is far cheaper than 7.62, and AR-15 magazines are universal. AR-10 magazines can be manufacturer specific.

I love the 7.62 myself! For a lower, I personally like Magpul magazines, so i'd look to see which they are comparable with... If that doesn't matter, then several manufacturers make great lowers.

If any of you are finding 5.56 or 223 ammo for less than $100/1000, please post it!!! I've only been able to find it for around $300/1000...

  14. Dutch, I know you're in FL so shipping may be an issue, but check the prices on .308 here
    http://www.freedommunitions.com/default.asp?m=0

Be sure to look at the "Blaster Training Ammo". These guys make good ammo. I've shot their .40, 9MM, and 5.56 with no problems at all. If you have questions, call. They are easy to talk to and very helpful.

  15. If you shoot the steel case stuff from Russia, CTD has it as cheap as I've seen. I tried it and didn't like it, but here is the link. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-2902

I like these guys a lot but their prices are similar to others http://www.freedommunitions.com/default.asp

They ship from ID so shipping may be pricy for East Coast folk. I like their service a lot. Also like that I can buy both reloaded brass and new brass rounds.
