I've seen a lot of people polishing their slides and barrels on their Glocks and I really like the look of just the barrel polished. Has anyone had any problems caused by a polished barrel? Is it difficult to maintain? I don't even have my Glock yet so I'm hesitant to do anything to a brand new gun that might hurt it in any way.

Nope, all good bud! You're not doing anything except taking the top black oxide coating. Looks good, and I don't believe it creates issues. If you like it, go for it. I did mine, and am NOT disappointed.
