Anybody here ever personally have problems running +P's through their G26's?

If not, opinions on preferred ammo are welcome.

Please, first hand accounts only. It's getting a little long winded on this forum with all the, "I heard, I read, This guy I know, My second cousin twice removed" stuff.

Sounds good. I'm thinking of switching over to that PDX from Hornaday CD. That guy tnoutdoors9 on YouTube does some pretty good T&E videos on ammo. He got my interest up with that PDX line (Their 12 ga. PDX stuff is off the hook), so I hit a couple of other sites on it and I'm convinced enough to give it a try.

As an OD LEO, I hope to never use that one-time dreaded shot that'll change my live forever. But if all I have is that one shot, I want it to change that mutt's life more than mine.

I was a bit skeptical after reading the warning on the box about making sure your firearm was rated for +p ammo, but after doing some research online and getting info from other members on this forum I was a lot more comfortable putting it through or barrels.

I prefer the heavy bullets in all calibers for penetration and momentum. I run 147gr 9mm in all my pistols chambered in that caliber. Paul Nowak, Senior Ballistics Engineer at Winchester, has told me that out of a short barrel +p rounds may not completely burn all of the powder and loose more velocity than the 147gr loadings. Plus the modern 147gr bullet designs are made to expand at lower velocity thresholds. Just something to think of and a different ballistic approach. Bill

I like the ~124gr weights personally.

As for standard pressure, +p and +p+ in short barrels there isn't as much advantage as the manufacturers like you to believe. Plus you get a lot more muzzle flash which is very bad for night shootings. I personally like to tune my loads to specific barrels. Faster powders can get you the same velocities with lower charges and less odds of overpressure.

I shot a mag of +P through my G19C. Never been bothered with muzzle flash with the comp, even doing nite fire. But that +P? Yea, buddy, it got my attention with the "C" model. Might of been the brand of ammo my buddy was using, but I was definitely aware of the muzzle flash.
