Thureon Defense makes a pretty awesome pistol caliber carbine.

If you're not set on an AR platform, I would look at the HK USC. It's on my list. I shot a rental one at a range and it was the most fun I'd ever had. Truely awesome.

Think I am going to stick with the AR platform. I have found parts to convert or build but I was looking for something whole.
