I don't want to thread jack but have anybody that has Springers tried the Tripp Cobra Mags? Im thinking on getting some but I'm not trying to throw money away. I have tied a few different mags and a lot won't lock my slide back.
Just go with Wilson combat and I swear you will never look at any others

I'm leaning towards the Wilson's, I will try them out the next time I'm at my LGS. Thanks for the reply. So you don't have any issues I presume with your Springers and the Wilson's not locking your slide back? The factory mags I got with my 3 previous Springers all have run flawlessly but I don't like the feel of them. I still have one of my loaded coupons, that I'm going to use and get their 10 rounders, I just want to add a few reliable 8 rounders to the stable.

I've been looking a lot on the web everybody is always praising those wilson mags. I been on the 1911 platform for a good while now and everyone has been a Springer so far. I have been never the type of person to try and fix something that isn't broken and I never replaced any of the factory mags, it's just Springfield doesn't offer the 8 round mags.

I do not use wilson magazines and never will, I bought 10 cheap 1911 magazines and if you know how a magazine is suppose to work you will never have any problems. The fact is that wilson does all the work for you this is why it is so expensive. I paid $6.27ea for 10 magazines, took them apart and filed them where it was needed, oiled and it always holds the slide on the last round and never had a mishap, if I bought 10 wilson magazines I would have spent over $300, not this dumb blonde hehe

I looked on their as well and Hilton is praising those CMC Powermags I ran those in my previous Springer and had ftf and slide not locking back. I'm almost going to purchase a Wilson slide lock so I can run those Wilson's without an issue. I know quite a few people that have done that and I'm probably next in line.

You are smart like me, but I went the RO/GI way
Yeah it makes life a lot easier.

I was researching that too, but nobody I could find made a "finished" reverse plug with a closed end for a TRP with bull barrel...and Im sure as hell not going to drop a standard barrel in there with a barrel bushing just to get rid of the FLGR. Monetarily that just made zero sense to me.

10-8 Performance has a prototype reverse plug specifically for the TRP Operator that is still in development. Once that comes out I may pick one up and revisit it. I'll probably get it anyway just to have in the kit bag....but this Dawson product is pretty damn sweet. Takedown is a snap now.

I posted my Kimber Tactical Ultra II previously but just added this Colt Government Model to the fold yesterday. It's been on my bucket list for a while now. I guess I'm showing my age but this is what I grew up seeing, my Father shot in competition, and carried when he was leading a squad patrolling the west end of Louisville during the race riots of the 1960's. I wanted the original look and feel. I know I have one but I have never cared for the "beaver tail" that most manufacturer's use on their clones.
