Yeah there's a few around. Skagit Arms is where I bought that 1022.
Trust me....they really love there stuff. Must be painful to part with it.

Anyone ever heard of Hawke Optics? I found what looks like a pretty neat setup for the 1022. Hawke Optics Vantage 3-9X40 IR with a high velocity reticle for .22lr BDC for 200 yd. shots no less. Read some reviews that rated it really good. Any hands on experience?

    helitack32f1 a FYI for ya..
I know that this would be out of your way BUT just in case.....
I believe that there's still a state sanctioned shooting pit out in Lyman
off Hwy. 20. Turn on to Lyman cemetery rd. Follow that till you see a sign for the Dude ranch (private club). Make a left & follow that till you get to the ranch then bear left. Signs at the entrance requiring a Discover pass??? NFI why they would do that. Enter at the top & there'll be several areas along the way for pistol or shotgun. At the bottom you'll be able to squeeze out 100+ yds. for rifle.

Love my 10-22. Wish I had more. Planning on getting a take down Charger this year.

I bought a 1022 backpacker with the magpul stock. About the only things that I won't change is the stock & the receiver. Every thing else is getting upgraded. So I'll have a pile of stock parts to have in reserve.

I swear by the time I'm finished with it, I'll have more into it with parts than I paid for it. What surprised me was it came with 5 mags, 1 in the receiver & 4 more inside the stock storage. Not knowing that I went out and bought 3 more.

    Well just finished up the majority of the mods for the 1022. Only thing I'm waiting on is the Hawke Optics scope. The list includes;

    Rim/Edge Krossfire CNC machined bolt.
Tandemkross Ultimate trigger kit. Went from factory "Ugh" to "OMG"
Tandemkross Advantage Picatinny charging assist. Allows left hand
    bolt charging.
Tandemkross spring loaded pins for the housing & the mag release.
    Tandemkross mag release spring.
    Brownells extended mag release.
Swapped out the factory pencil barrel and installed a Tactical Solutions
fluted .920 bull barrel with a Maddmacs super comp 920.
I'll get some pics posted later to show the configuration.

Just looking at it I get a........swelling of sorts.....ya know?

I don't know fellas. I'm on the fence. It looks nice, but another black rifle.
But a good camo paint job might be the icing on the cake. The scope's coming
next Wednesday to finish it off.

That's what the intention was. I got 3 color & matte clear to go with. Have patterns & stencils. Just fighting the fear of painting it.

The scope came today and I have to say I'm surprised at it. I had never heard of Hawke Optics before. a 3-9x40 red & green IR with ballistic marks for 50, 75, 100, 150, & 200 yds. The only thing is the Parallax is set for 50 yds. I'll have it on tomorrow & will play with it a bit.
I know Nikon has a P-22, & there's some other offerings, but this looks to be over built for a .22 scope. About $175.00 all in.

I am very interested on your feedback on Hawke optics. They look too good to be true for the price. I want to try one!

As soon as I can get to Plantation, get it settled in and back I certainly will. This is the only mfr. to offer these scopes in S/S, H/V.
    I'm going with guarded optimism.

Been reading up on this Hawke scope and it's interesting. Have to sight it in @ 50 yds at 9x then all the hash marks are predetermined. Cross hair is @ 50 yds then goes to 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, & 200 yds. Hawke Optics offers their version of a ballistic calculator called X-Act. It illustrates on how to use the scope stadia lines as a range finder.
