Had my g20 stolen about 3 years ago . It was recovered 2 weeks ago . Bad thing was where it was . Was found in the bottom of mission bay . Salt water . Gun is in really good shape . Before it was stolen it had been cerakoted and milled for optics . What’s the best way to free up the slide ? Has rust build up around there the barrel and the slide meet up . I have emailed glock . Hope to send it to them to get refurbished.
If you do have to send it back to Glock, add a detailed letter with the circumstances of its condition, loss and recovery. Tell the story. Someone in the advertising department may see it as an opportunity and cut you a break.
Well I never got my g20 apart . I finally got my g29 back 2 weeks ago . Was returned 10 days shy of being 4 years from when I got my paperwork from the ATF .
@Strummer
You can do what you want, but if it was me, and law enforcement ever runs that serial number again for some unsuspected reason, and things weren't done accordingly, they might take it away from you. Then you will try to do all the running around and huge headaches to get it back again after they find out someone didn`t do their job and clear this weapon of any crime it was involved in. Paperwork ya know, sometimes doesn`t get filed in the right place`s. Just something to ponder. Nice thing about a G29, there`s plenty still out there to replace this one with!
