Default Slide not locking back

OK, I have a small issue that I could use some help diagnosing. I just got two new Glocks. I took the 30S slide and put it on a 30 Gen 4 lower. It fires great! My problem is that the slide doesn't lock back after the last round. I tried the two 10 round mags that it came with and then my duty 13 rounder. I can't figure it out.

When I insert an empty mag and pull the slide back, it locks back without hesitation.

Any ideas? I'm still getting into Glocks, so it's new to me. Thanks in advance.

Check the slide release and make sure the spring is UNDER the locking block pin.

Ammo? Reloads or factory? Possibly weak?

The ammo was American Ballistics Industries purchased last fall from Lucky Gunner. It cycles just fine in my gen 4 21. I'll have to hit the range again to double check. It was weird. I just can't explain it. It shot for crap as well. That must be a new Glock thing. My 21 was dead nuts accurate.

OK, I just got back from the range again. I went out right quick to test it out again. The first two mags, it locked back just find after last round. Then after that, it failed every time with every mag. It locks back when manually pulled back with empty mag on empty chamber.

I swapped the lowers back for the Gen 3 30SF lower that originally came with the 30S and it locked back every time after last round. Many in here said that my conversion would work perfectly, but I am seeing the opposite. It's very irritating as I really want this to work. What would the issue be?

Thanks in advance.

Might be something as simple as a new slide release.. Try swapping them on the lowers

Cool, thanks. I'll give that a shot. Hopefully it works. They are both stock and look the same though. Is the Vickers the best aftermarket slide release?

They all look the same, but they aren't. Vickers is great, but there's no "best." the factory glock extended ones I like the most
