The Shield hands down in my book. I have owned my 9 shield for two years. I made several attempts to ask Glock to come out with a single stack 9/40, and we all know how well that worked out. I had carried my G23 for years until the shield purchase. Two months ago I bought a my second shield (a 40 cal) and now it is my EDC gun. Glock blew it when they ignored their customer base. Many of us have been screaming from the roof tops for a Glock single stack in 9/40 and we have been basically told "we know better than you". And please don't bad mouth the manual safety on the shield. You don't have to use it if you don't want to (which I don't) but the ladies (including my wife) will use it as an additional safety measure. Anyone who has not held a S&W Shield in their hand really can't make the comparison. Even if you are a Glock guy do not discount the shield until you actually hold and shoot one. I have been teaching concealed carry classes for 18 years and the S&W Shield is the gun I currently recommend to anyone who asks me "what's the best current CC gun in your opinion". And this isn't just my opinion. The local gun shop in my area has been selling more shields the past year than any other small/medium size handgun.

I been thinking very hard about getting a shield 9mm especially now there doing a single stack glock in 380 that's bigger then the shield 👎

Both are great guns. I chose the Shield because it is noticeably easier to conceal. IMO you can't go wrong with either.

I like them both as well. But just to confuse you a little more, check out the Walther PPS too.

I have had both, I did not like the slope of the Shield hand grip, I have big hands and did not like the way it felt (recoil) went right back to the G26. Now I carry the G19 just my preference.

I was going to look at the shield for my wife but ruled it out because of the Manuel safety. In a defense situation that is one less thing for her to worry about.

I carry my shield with the manual safety off, that way it operates just like a Glock. However I am training my wife to use it on her shield on account of purse carry, cause you never know what might contact the trigger down in a purse, or just treaching in to get it and grabbing the trigger housing by mistake.

If I were deciding between those two I would go with one of the Kahr guns hands down for carrying.
