Default Glock 23 Gen 4 Weird Ejection Issue

I recently picked up a barely used G23 G4 for under $400 in great condition. I took it out today and put about 140 rounds through it and nearly all (if not all) of the cases ejected forwards of the gun. I know the G19 Gen 4's had some issues that were solved by a new ejector housing, but mine has the 28926 (stamped 1882) ejector which I think is the latest for a G23 G4. I do believe this could be an early model G4 because it is missing the "tang" on the beaver tail where the beaver tail back strap engages and locks into place (both my G19s have this tang/notch on their beaver tails).

I am certain that I am not limp wristing or anything like that. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what did you do to solve it? TIA!

After doing some research and comparing my G23 ejector to a G27, I found the 28926 ejector is not stamped 1882, it is indeed stamped 28926 (unlike the 9MM ejector which is stamped with a different number versus the part number).

I picked up a 28926 ejector, have installed it and will test it out today. Below are the original 1882 (on the left) and new 28926 (on the right) ejectors for comparison. I am sure that Glock would have probably sent me a new one, but for $8.00 I was not going to quibble.

"gee19" thanks for the info.
No longer having a Gen4 .40, I didn't realize Glock changed the Gen4 ejector.

Unless you're currently listed in Glock's database, Glock wouldn't have sent you an ejector or trigger mechanism housing.

Ejecting forward isn't really a bad thing. Some Glocks may do this and besides the ejector, one's grip, the recoil spring, and ammo-used are other factors affecting the ejection pattern/direction.

Let us know how that new ejector works after you try it.

I wish my Glocks ejected forward.
Took some work just to get them to not eject backward and hit me in the head.

Problem solved. After installing the new ejector and test firing, all of the brass flew to the rear and to the right. I was shooting 165gr handloaded and 170gr Perfecta ammunition and had zero issues with either. Really liking this G23!

I'm glad the Gen4 ejector cured the problem.
Some info for those reading and to clarify some particulars:

-the Gen3's #1882 ejector comes with a part number 1896 Trigger Mechanism Housing.
-the Gen4's #28926 ejector comes with a part number 28927 Trigger Mechanism Housing.
The ejectors can be swapped by pulling the ejectors out of the respective polymer trigger mechanism housings.

Glock generally will not send such parts to a customer. The parts can be bought from various on-line retailers or Glock will send or sell these parts to a Glock-Certified Armorer.

To clarify my situation, this is a Gen 4 G23 and it came with an 1882 ejector. Since I bought it used, I have no way of knowing if the previous owner changed this, but he did not seem to be the kind of person who would remove a Gen 4 ejector and install a Gen 3. I could not find the ejector (metal piece only) from anyone online and since the entire housing and ejector was only $8.00, it hardly seemed to be worth it to chase it down anyway.
