Default Austrian vs U.S. ?

Okay, this is really stupid I know but who cares I want to know. How do you tell if your glock is made in the U.S. or in Austria? I mean, mine both say made in Austria, but under that it says glock, Smyrna Georgia.

It will say MADE IN US rather than Austria. Glock has a plant in Smyrna Georgia. They make the ones for outside the US.

Generally, 2 letter serial numbers mean the gun was made completely in Austria. These stopped being imported around 1990.

3 letter serial numbers, which are most Glocks in the US today, have a slide/barrel made in Austria and a frame made in Smyrna. They are normally marked with an "AT" stamped on the barrel.

The newer, fully-US-made Glocks have 4 letter serial numbers.

ALL imported guns must have importer marked somewhere on the gun. The importer is not the manufacturer. In Glocks case if it says USA on the slide it was made here, Austria on the slide it was assembled here with early ones being made totally over seas.

This is my USA Gen 4 G19.It has the state of Ga, with a "P" in the middle of it, in three locations. Hope this helps.

I just bought an American made Glock 17. I haven't had a chance to shoot yet, but this Saturday we'll see. Who else on here owns one made in the USA?

Right here G19 Gen 3 first hand gun so I really have nothing to compare it to, but haven't had any issues with the 300 rounds I've put through it.
