Default Mag Pouch for CCW

I was sitting here thinking about a way to carry a couple of extra magazines without it being noticeable. These are 10 rd mags for my G26. I thought about IWB but I don't want to have to go buy all new pants or jeans. I all ready carry IWB and I think adding the IWB mag pouches would just be way too much. So I just grapped my camera pouch and they fit in there pretty good. Only problem is it is open on the bottom corners and someone may be able to see the brass or copper if they looked real close. I think I may take a couple of empty mags into Wal-Mart or Best Buy etc. tomorrow and see if I can find a case for a camera or cell phone that is completely closed that might do the trick. I don't really like carrying the mags in my pockets. Keys, knife, coins etc. there is too much stuff in the pockets already. Plus I was thinking it would make a good case for leaving a couple of mags in each vehicle etc without them being exposed to a passenger or child if I opened the glove box or center console in front them. Has any one else tried this solution?

I once used a black leather "basketweave" Buck knife sheath to hold an extra magazine, and it worked great. It was sealed up at the bottom, so no part of the magazine was visible.

Thanks for the idea! I have a bunch of 110 sheaths since I collect Buck knives also. I just grabbed one out of the knife cabinet It is a tight fit for 1 mag but you can still see the top of the mag where the flap goes around. I think anybody that has seen a mag before would know what was in there I would rather have it completely covered so nobody could tell the difference rather it was a mag or a cell phone or a camera.

You got me thinking so I started digging through some drawers I found a small set of binoculars in a case that I have never used. holds 2 mags great!

Then I found a some sort of a garden multi-tool that I have never used in another case and it will hold 1 mag just right.

havasu - If you wouldn't have suggested the knife sheath I probably wouldn't have even thought about looking through those other drawers. You helped save me some $$ and a bunch of time. It is about an hours drive each way for me to get to the city. Now I can spend the $$ on more ammo! Thanks again!

Come to think of it, I did replace the Buck sheath for a Gerber multi-tool and it did fit better.

Use the double pouch and add a SF G2 flashlight in there. Having a good light is more important than an extra mag IMO. I don't leave home without out both.

The rig I use now is a TT Gunleather setup which works very well.

Here is the only IWB magazine pouch I know of.

I would absolutely recommend any Kholster product.

I've has a Sparks IWB for a 1911 mag and even it was very uncomfortable. They do not have a large enough area to disperse the belt tension on them like an IWB holster does. I don't know anyone that has stayed with one long after trying it.

That kholster would disperse the tension better but I don't see the point of an IWB mag pouch to begin with.

Default Cell phone pouch

I carry mine in a completely closed cell phone pouch horizontally on my belt. Works great.

Might also look at an ankle pouch.
