Or at least that is what works for me
Thx all
I have the 42 and 43. For me..the 42 is easier to shoot. It kicks less and is a bit quieter. Again, this is me. As others have mentioned some 42' require a breakin. Fitst box I had 1/3 to 1/2 stovepipes/failure to eject/feed. Second box maybe 1 out of 6. 3rd box was even better. After that..over 1000 rounds with zero fgailures.

The 43 has thousands of rounds with (I don't believe) more than 1 or two failures. Certainly none in the last 2 thousand rounds.

I've carried a G43 for the last 9 months most days. Either inside the pocket or IWB.
I don't have any experience with the G42 but am considering picking one up for my wife and I since she fell in love with my G43 and shoots it well at the range. Then, she can take her pick of the two for carrying and I'll take the other.

The one thing I forgot to mention when choosing between the G42 or G43 is ammo cost.
.380 ammo significantly higher then 9mm ammo.

I had a .380 about 30 years ago. Just get a 9mm and a good point is ammo cost. Locally .380 ACP costs the same as .40 S&W and twice as much as 9mm.

And if she likes shooting the 43 and you do too, why go to a 42? Less stopping power, more expensive ammo, and some would say more recoil. Get a 2nd 43.

Does the 42 have more recoil than the 43? I was expecting the opposite.

The 42 definitely has less recoil than the 43. I own and shoot both.

Ammo is no big deal. You can get steel for 18 cents and brass for 23 cents. The 42 has less recoil and you can shoot it faster. If you can shoot well you don't have to worry about "stopping" if you can't then your missed shots would be better in .380 than 9mm. People worry too much about gun capability and not enough on shooter ability.
