Here is some information I thought you might find interesting.
In 2010 - the latest year for which detailed statistics are available - there were 12,996 murders in the US. Of those, 8,775 were caused by firearms.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 32,885 people died in traffic crashes in 2010 in the United States (latest figures available), including an estimated 10,228 people who died in drunk driving crashes, accounting for 31% of all traffic deaths last year.

Drunk drivers kill more people in this country than People with guns.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Some interesting statistics. They are dated, but they get the point across and they still may be very valid:

It's a shame Costas (&bloomberg)wasn't on that NYC train platform being pushed by a deranged thug....guess when you travel by limo...less need for SD....more time for misplaced crusades against other people's rights.
These public crusaders make me ill....the NRA should slam them with the facts and not stop 'till they get truly silenced....at least their baseless rehtoric.

An open letter to Bob Costas and Jason Whitlock
Posted: December 3, 2012 by alexthechick

Gentlemen: I see that you have chosen to use the horrific crime of the murder of Kasandra Perkins to express your belief that guns are the problem, not the men who wield them. I am utterly certain that you believe that you have the moral high ground on this matter. I am equally certain that such a belief is appallingly wrong, not to mention terribly misogynistic. Why do I say this? Because had your desires on gun control been in place, I would not be alive to be writing this now.

Costas just keeps on babbling. Now he says young men can't own guns without "something bad happening".
I will never watch anything with Bob Costas commentating again. I really hope he is not commentating the Notre Dame -Alabama game.
